Our latest iOS update brings exciting new features for marking locations! You can now draw lines (polylines) and shapes (polygons) on maps, alongside the existing option to pinpoint a location (now called a "point").
If you are familiar with building or modifying a form, you know that you've always been able to add a geographic question type called Latitude/Longitude to your forms. We've recently released a web update that added two new geographic question types (Polygon and Polyline) and changed the name of the Latitude/Longitude question type to Point.
Heads up! Drawing lines (polylines) and shapes (polygons) on forms is currently only available on iOS devices. But don't worry, this feature is coming soon to Android too!
(Psst...Check out this article for complete details on how to integrate lines and shapes into your project.)

Before point drop
NEW! Label your point
Coordinates, label name and type of geospatial item are displayed. NOTE: For consistency with GeoJSON specifications, longitude coordinates are listed first in the mobile display. However, in any exported PDFs, latitude coordinates will appear first.
To edit the point:
- Tap the pencil icon
- Click Edit in the map view
- Drag the point to the new location
- Save (update label if needed)
- Go Back to the survey
You will also notice that the display of the point data is rendered differently on the web when opening a survey in Edit.
