# Videos: iOS Mobile - How to Prepare your Device and Collect Data in the Field
## Learn how to use the Wildnote mobile functions for iOS devices.
Before you leave the office, download the latest version of the app, log in, and sync all. In the field, collect data, use shortcuts, save the data (**save often!**), and check out the map view and reference project documents. While in the field you can edit, delete, and duplicate surveys. Once you get back to a good internet connect sync the surveys so others can see the data.
#### Get Started with the Wildnote mobile app. Download the latest version, Log in, and Sync All
Watch this video to make sure you are ready to take the app out in the field. Before you go offline it is always a good idea to make sure you have the latest version of the app. While you have a good internet connection you will also want to log in to Wildnote on the app, and Sync All to update your project data and get the newest surveys. If you are using a taxonomy list you will want to sync that too before you go out to the field.
#### Open a Project and Start Collecting Data on your iOS Device
Watch this video to see the operations you will have available to you out in the field with your mobile device. You will open projects, collect data, use shortcuts, save the data, check out the map view and reference project documents.
#### Sync, Edit, Duplicate, and Delete Surveys on iOS Devices
In this video you will learn three ways to sync your data and when to use them. You will see that in the field you can manage your surveys with operations such as duplicating, editing, and deleting. You will be shown the importance of saving surveys and syncing the data.
