Setting up MFA at the Organizational Level

What is MFA?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security process that requires you to verify your identity using more than just a password. It adds extra layers of protection to keep your accounts secure.

MFA typically involves two or more of the following factors:

  1. Something You Know – A password or PIN.
  2. Something You Have – A phone, security key, or authentication app.
  3. Something You Are – A fingerprint, facial recognition, or retina scan.

For example, when logging into an account, you might enter your password and then receive a code on your phone to confirm it's really you. This makes it much harder for hackers to break in, even if they steal your password.

How does MFA work on Wildnote?

With Wildnote MFA, you can choose to use either an Authenticator App such as Google Authenticator, your email, or a text message to send you a secondary code for logging in. A combination of #1 and #2 above. Individual users can independently set-up MFA for themselves, or a Company Admin can require that ALL users activate MFA the next time they log into either to web application or mobile application.

How to enable MFA for your organization

Only Company Admins can enable MFA for an entire organization.

Once enabled, each user will be asked to set up their MFA. They will be able to choose which method to use.

How to disable MFA

Only company Admins can remove the MFA requirement when it is set up for an entire organization.

If a user wants to disable their MFA or change their MFA method, they should follow the same steps outlined in the videos above. However, instead of checking the box to enable MFA, they will uncheck it. Once the box is unchecked, the user must enter the verification code to complete the process.
